The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine has a talented body of faculty,
staff and students dedicated to furthering the College's vision for excellence in
research and knowledge development in the fields of food, agriculture and natural
resources of the United Arab Emirates and beyond.
CAVM offers outstanding research facilities which include three experimental stations,
a food pilot plant, and several laboratories that are used for teaching, research,
training and other purposes. The laboratories contain a broad range of instruments
ranging from agriculture related instruments to biomedical, biochemical, hematological,
and anthropometric analysis.
The College publishes the Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture (EJFA) that is
devoted to sharing original basic and applied research articles in the field of Food
and Agriculture. The EJFA is the only scientific Journal in the Middle East that publishes
12 issues per year. The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine offers full-service
research capabilities and has a broad range of active research areas that include
but are not limited to water use in agriculture, protected agriculture, product development
from camel milk and date fruits, etc.
Capabilities
The College of Food and Agriculture (CFA) is dedicated to continually engaging its
faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students in applied research and scholarly
activities that contribute to the knowledge base in teaching and learning within their
field of specialization. There are more than 30 faculty members in the College, represented
by 14 nationalities. Many of them are graduates of well recognized US research oriented
universities.
The faculty can avail of the world-class research facilities available in the College.
These include 3 Experimental Station Farms, 1 Food Pilot Plant and several laboratories
that are used for teaching, research, training and other purposes. The laboratories

Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture
The "Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture [EJFA]" is a unique, peer-reviewed Journal
of Food and Agriculture publishing basic and applied research articles in the field
of Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Sciences (Plant Production & Protection,
and Animal Sciences), Human Nutrition, Agribusiness, Consumer Sciences and the Environment.
Interdisciplinary articles in the fields of food, agriculture and environment are
also welcome.
The refereeing process of EJFA has been streamlined and the journal is continuing
in its efforts to provide peer-reviewed best quality academic research in Agriculture,
Food Science, Nutrition, Biotechnology and other inter related scientific disciplines.
Through this, EJFA aims to be a cited journal in near future. The streamlined blind
review process helps the journal to maintain its high integrity and provide high quality
peer-reviewed academic and professional research to the scientific society throughout
the world.
Having published 24 Volumes since 1989, the frequency increased from 6 issues to 12
issues per year starting with volume 25. The EJFA is the first monthly scientific
journal in this field from the region.

The CAVM provides opportunities for collaboration with industry partners and government
agencies through collaborative research and/or consultancy services. Some research
