Overview
Admission to the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is competitive, and based on the relevant student academic skills and performance levels, in addition to the instructional capacities of the academic programs in each college, based on the Admissions Policy approved and announced by UAEU annually, setting the guidelines for each of the following Categories:
First Category – Current Student
- Current National high school students and Children of National Mothers in Government and Private Schools, applying for admission in the Fall or Spring semester of the Academic Year in which they obtained their high school certificate (Grade 12); proven that no more than one year has passed since obtaining their high school certificate.
- Male high school graduates (or its equivalent) for the first time, who completed the National Service Program requirements within the Fall or Spring semester of the Academic Year that follow their completion of the National Service Program requirements.
- Students must submit their applications through the Ministry of Education’s Official Website, and will be admitted based on satisfying the current admission requirements.
- Current International students, obtaining their high school certificate (Grade 12) from the UAE or its equivalent are considered for direct admission, based on satisfying the current admission requirements, and might be considered for scholarships based on achieving the scholarship conditions and within the instructional capacities of each college; proven that no more than one year has passed since obtaining their high school certificate, upon submitting their applications through the Official UAEU Website.
- Children of UAEU’s Faculty and Staff members, obtaining their high school certificate (Grade 12) from the UAE or its equivalent are considered for direct admission, based on satisfying the current admission requirements, in addition to meeting the below criteria:

- No more than one year should have passed since obtaining their high school certificate,
upon submitting their application through the Official UAEU Website.
- The Faculty or Staff member must be under a permanent contract, unrestricted fund, and should be valid for a minimum of one academic semester upon the student’s admission.

- UAE National students and Children of National Mothers (classified as category one – P1), who graduated in a year previous to the current year, and are currently enrolled in Zayed University or HCT only are eligible to transfer to UAEU, by submitting their applications through the Ministry of Education’s Official Website, and based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
- Re-admission might be considered for National students and Children of National Mothers who dropped out of school for a period of less than one year; based on the available vacancies in the colleges, by submitting the online applications through the Ministry of Education’s Official Portal, and based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
Second Category – Previous High School Students
- National high school students and Children of National Mothers, who obtained their high school certificate within a period of more than one year but doesn’t exceed three years upon submitting their application.
- Male high school graduates (or its equivalent) for the first time, who completed the National Service Program requirements within a period of more than one year but doesn’t exceed three years upon submitting their application.
- Students must submit their applications through the Ministry of Education’s Official Website, and will be considered for direct admission as tuition-paying students only, based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
- International students and Children of UAEU staff and faculty members will be considered for direct admission as tuition-paying students only, proven that more than one year and not more than three years have passed since obtaining their high school certificate, upon submitting their application through the Official UAEU Website, and based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
- UAE National students and Children of National Mothers (classified as category two – P2), and international students, who are currently enrolled in any of the accredited Higher Education Institutions (in/out of UAE), will be considered for transfer to UAEU on direct admission as tuition-paying students only; based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
- All students must submit their applications as follows:
- UAE National Students and Children of National Mothers: through the Ministry of Education’s Official Website.
- International Students: through the Official UAEU Website.
- Re-admission might be considered for National students and Children of National Mothers who dropped out of school for a period of more than one year and does not exceed three years; who will be considered for direct admission as tuition-paying students only, based on the available vacancies in the colleges, by submitting the online applications through the Ministry of Education’s Official Portal, and based on satisfying the minimum admission requirements.
