Dr. Shujun Jiang is an associate professor in Media and Creative Industries Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), UAE. Prior to joining UAEU, she was visiting at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the US in 2011 and 2009 respectively. She was also a visiting scholar at Syracuse University in 2006. Dr. Shujun received her Ph.D. in Media and Communication from the City University of Hong Kong (2008). Her teaching covers core theoretical and practical courses in media and public relations. Her research focuses on online journalism and social media studies.

Her research papers were presented and published at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shujun is a pioneer and leader in applying educational technology and pedagogy in teaching and learning. She serves as a Faculty Fellow of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) at UAEU from 2015 till now. Dr. Shujun also plays an important role in bridging UAEU with top universities and research institutions in China. She is the founder of the Center for China Studies at UAEU. Dr. Shujun is the recipient of the College Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2015; Asian University Alliance Scholars Award, 2018-2019; Award for Research Excellence from Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, 2018-2020.
