Area of interest: Dr. Saleha specializes in research areas encompassing membranes, biofuels, and microalgae. Her focus on biofuels has resulted in the development of two patented membrane bioreactors, demonstrating their efficacy in enhancing the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose for bioethanol production. This innovative approach aligns with the United Arab Emirates' ambitious goals for 2030, advancing sustainable development initiatives. Through collaborative efforts with researchers from Australia and faculty members at UAE University, Dr. Saleha explores diverse microalgae research projects. These investigations hold promise for addressing challenges related to renewable energy and the development of bio-based products, contributing to the broader goals of environmental sustainability.
Drive behind work: As a member of the UAE community and in alignment with the United Arab Emirates' 2030 vision for sustainable development, it is imperative for individuals to actively and effectively contribute to these overarching goals. In light of this commitment, Dr. Saleha focuses her research efforts on generating outcomes that align with the country's vision. The emphasis is on conducting studies that address the critical issue of clean and green energy production, a pivotal concern in the context of climate change and its far-reaching impacts. The direction of her research is fortified by the guidance and unwavering support of the wise leadership and management at UAE University.
