The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation (AIDI) at United Arab Emirates University is strategically positioned to support the UAE’s national mission of advancing artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and future-ready government services. AIDI serves as a national hub for world-class AI research, innovation, and practical transformation, with a strong commitment to supporting government initiatives such as the Zero Bureaucracy Program and the adoption of agentic AI in government services, institutional workflows, and operational excellence.
Mission and Objectives
Objectives
Conduct fundamental and applied AI research addressing UAE's strategic priorities and global challenges. Advance theoretical understanding of intelligent systems across sectors including healthcare, education, environment, energy, and governance. Foster interdisciplinary research collaboration among faculty, graduate students,
government research institutes, and international academic partners. Establish research training programs to develop national AI research expertise and scholarly leadership. Serve as a catalyst for evidence-based policy research, ethical AI investigation, and translational research methodologies.

Director's Message
It is my privilege to introduce the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation (AIDI) at United Arab Emirates University. AIDI represents the natural evolution of our Big Data Analytics Center (BIDAC), reflecting both the transformative potential of AI and our commitment to the UAE's National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031. At AIDI, we believe AI can be a powerful force for good improving healthcare, strengthening governance, advancing education, and building a more sustainable future. Our research spans fundamental and applied AI, with special attention to responsible innovation, and solutions grounded in our unique cultural and regional context.
