BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Adeghate obtained his MD from Semmelweis University Medical School, Budapest, Hungary in 1986 and his PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1992. He was awarded a DSc by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2010. He also has a Master of Family Medicine degree from Monash University, Australia. Dr. Adeghate worked as a lecturer in Anatomy at Semmelweis University, Hungary before joining the College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, UAE. Dr. Adeghate is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy and a past Chairperson of the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Research Priority Group, United Arab Emirates University.
His research interest is in the field of experimental diabetes. He has published more than 150 full-length articles in peer-reviewed journals, 9 book chapters, 116 abstracts and attended over 72 scientific conferences. The cumulative impact factor of his publications is over 270 with a total citation of 2,968. Dr. Adeghate is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Diabetes & Metabolism, and a member of the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Diabetes, Current Diabetes Reviews, Austin Journal of Endocrinology and Diabetes Neuroendocrinology Letters and The Open Medicinal Chemistry Journal.
