Overview
Welcome to the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Business and Economics. The Department’s faculty members conduct teaching and research in a wide variety of areas, including: labor economics, energy economics, economic development and international finance. This expertise translates into high-quality instruction at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Our main contribution to undergraduate teaching is through the Bachelor of Economics. We provide a strong theoretical and empirical foundation through core courses (required), balanced with specialist elective courses, such as Energy Economics, Public Economics, Project Economics, and Applied Economics of the Middle East to name but a few. To see a full course list of what is currently available, have a look at our course catalogue.
We strongly encourage our students to join the Economics Club, which organizes a number of academic and social events during each semester, on the advice of faculty members.
Whether you are a prospective student, an academic interested in our teaching or research programs, or simply browsing, we hope that you will find the information you need. If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
