New Campus wired Infrastructure upgrade phase III
A key element of UAE University’s strategy is to evolve from the current multi-vendor network infrastructure across the campus to a converged, standardized and stable platform
based on Cisco switches to reduce the costs associated with operational overheads, annual maintenance, and increased demand on the network services throughout the campus.
Phase 3 was includes the following:
C Campus Buildings (Site C) Wired Network Upgrade:
replace the existing Brocade network infrastructure with Cisco Nexus 7702 operating as distribution layer with 40G single mode links to existing Nexus 7710 Core switches and Cisco
3850 mgig switches in access layer with 10G multimode uplinks to distribution (switches) through the use of breakout cables from 40G to 4x10G links.
A Series Buildings (Female Hostel) Wireless Network Upgrade:
UAE University upgraded female hostel wireless infrastructure by adding additional 1052 access point and relocating some existing AP’s for better coverage. The female hostel consist
of 10 building and all new access point registered with existing WLC through LAN network.
