Study shows that there is a strong relationship between class attendance and student academic
performance. Not attending classes has an adverse effect on performance. Therefore, having a
system in place to facilitate the attendance reporting process is an important element in the
improvement of student academic performance.
The UAE University has clear and transparent attendance policy that encourages students to
attend classes. Thus, UITS has recently revamped the attendance system with two objectives in
mind: to comply with the university's attendance policy and audit requirements and to introduce
new features and functions that make the systemmore user-friendly. These include:
