Exam Format:
Exams are primarily performance-based and conducted in a simulated environment. Each exam listed above is 50 minutes long to complete all the required tasks.
Where:
MOS exams can be taken in Prometric/Certiport test centers. Not all Prometric test centers will have these exams available. The fee for the exam varies from center to center.
In Dubai, the exam costs between AED 500-700. On contacting Continuing Education Centre (CEC), UAEU, they were ready to offer it for AED 350, provided there are enough candidates
to take it.
Learning:
The exams really test your knowledge in the applications and those who are using it on a day to day basis need not spend much effort, but to streamline their learning by
reading some of the available guides or free online training. Those who are really new to the topic may find it necessary to go through a structured course with hands-on training.
Lynda.comhave got excellent online training available for these exams and is free for UAEU members. There are some test prep exams available for purchase, which really helps the
user to focus on the exam content.
College of Medicine is conducting some training session for MOS conducted by Division of Information Technology (DoIT) staff with CMHS management agreeing to provide the exam
fees for the test takers. UAEU HR unit could initiate some arrangement with CEC to train UAEU members for these certifications as part of the staff development program.
