Since the foundation of the UAE, the
frst concern was to build a modern
state while adhering to its heritage
and origin. The best testimony to
this is the famous saying of H.H.
the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan
AL Nahayan (God bless his soul) :
“He who has no past does not have
either a present nor a future�?.
Within this context and on the
new campus in Al Ain City, UAEU
students organized a number
of activities within the Festival
of Culture & Heritage under the
motto “Days in the Love of the
UAE�? under the patronage of
H.H Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak
Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher
Education & Scientifc Research,
Chancellor of UAEU with the
participation of the Ministry of
Students Club
Culture, Youth & Community
Development, and Abu Dhabi
Authority for Culture & Heritage.
The festival comprised a number
of cultural, artistic and heritage
activities in which students
participated in literary, artistic
and scientifc concerts and
competitions held during the
festival. Moreover, the best work in
the art of creation and innovation
were presented namely the short
story, dramatic text, poetry (classical
and folklore) social, cultural and
economic research, fne arts such as
paintings of all kind, photography,
handcraft, scientifc innovation,
and architectural design.
The said festival aimed to enhance
the cultural participation of
students refecting the impressive
and important role of institutions of
Higher Education that serve the local
community so as to maintain its
folklore heritage, cultural heritage
through the eforts of students who
are contributing in the building of
a prosperous future of the UAE.
