The United Arab Emirates University organizes series of vocational training workshops with its strategic partners in various scientific disciplines

Preparing graduates to become leaders and pioneers in their majors
The Training and Professional Development Unit of the College of Business and Economics of the United Arab Emirates University organized a workshop on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 to introduce the ‘Mubadala’ company along with its training and employment opportunities available for university students. The workshop was held at the College of Information Technology (CIT) male auditorium in the presence of Faris Suhail Al Mazroui, First Assistant Director of Investment and Finance Department, representatives of Mubadala, members of the College of Business and Economics and university students.
The workshop aimed to familiarize university students with the fields of work in Mubadala and the areas of training and employment opportunities available there, in order to achieve the university’s mission to prepare graduates capable of taking responsibility and leading in the future, through effective partnerships with the concerned authorities to enhance the wealth of knowledge in society. Mubadala’s representatives gave a presentation about the company’s vision, strategic goals, investment philosophy and training and employment plans that they provide to nationals and UAEU graduates.
The Professional Development and Student Affairs Department of the College of Science, in collaboration with the Center for Career Placement and Alumni, held an evening workshop entitled ‘Preparing for a Job Interview’ presented by Professor Majid Bin Afif, Vocational Training Adviser, in order to introduce students to how to get ready for a job interview, to prepare them for the labor market and help them develop their professional skills to pass the personnel interviews.
In the same context, the Career Planning and Placement Section of the Center for Career Placement and Alumni organized a lecture titled ‘Your Key to Success … Creativity and Innovation’ presented by Dr. Fadwa Al Mughairbi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, and Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, who explained that the lecture aimed to enhance creative thinking, innovative strategies and scientific methods.
To continue the series of professional workshops organized by the centre at the university, a ‘Work Ethics’ workshop was held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, presented by Dr. Bassam Al-Khatib from the College of Business and Economics at the CIT male auditorium. The workshop aimed to provide the students and alumni with the necessary skills to link beliefs, values, principles and ethics to maintain common standards for effective professional communication in a multicultural work environment and to emphasize the importance of ethics in professional organizations, legal institutions and other groups in the community.
This series of training workshops was held to achieve the strategic objectives of the UAEU, by preparing graduates to become pioneers in their majors, enabling them to lead in the future, to enrich the UAE labor market and bring satisfaction and happiness to their professional lives.
