Today, we welcome a new academic
year in the new campus of UAEU.
Our hearts are all full of hope,
trustfulness and loyalty towards
the wise leadership of H.H Sheikh
Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
President of UAE, May God protect
him, H.H Sheikh Mohammad Bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President
and Prime Minister of the UAE,
Ruler of Dubai, God take care of
him, and of H.H First Lt. General H.H
Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy
Supreme Commander of Armed
Forces, for their kind initiative to
construct the new UAEU academic
campus. This initiative has given
us great incentive to undertake
serious and on-going work in the
way of construction and great
achievements so that the UAEU shall
always be a source of confdence
and show responsibility towards our
homeland and fellow citizens.
The instructions of H.H Sheikh
Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan,
Minister of Higher Education and
Scientifc Research, Chancellor of
UAEU, are aiming to draw a road
map for the process of higher
education in the country. Indeed,
there are six distinct priorities
and goals that distinguish UAE
University and which were
elaborated on by H.H Sheikh
Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, in
the annual convocation address
delivered on the 19th of September
2011. So the most important goal
and task of the UAE University is
the education of its students. The
UAE University is to be committed
to the success, development and
strengthening of its students,
so that they may fulfl their roles
in society. Moreover, the UAE
University must continually strive
to become an international research
university, focusing on areas of
national importance. In addition,
the UAE University must continually
strive to become an international

Further, the university must
ensure that each of its students
fnds appropriate, satisfying and
productive employment after
graduation. Meanwhile, the UAE
University’s partnership with the
UAE Community must always form
the cornerstone of all its operations,
and it shall show its commitment to
be a model of efective organization
and performance, where all policies,
procedures and administrative
practices meet the highest
standards and be consistent with
those in the world’s top universities.
Finally, the strategic planning of the
university must be the principal
component for its continual
improvement, and form the basis
for future activities, priorities,
allocating resources and budgeting.
It is in all fairness to say that the
achievements and contributions
of UAE University calls for pride,
and the responsibility of media
lies in introducing the University
achievements and its future plans to
the world.
We are all thankful to His Highness
Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al
Nahayan for his wise leadership and
continuous support.
